SC450, SC490 and SC540 Models – Callaway SportTrucks are powered by supercharged variants of Chevrolet’s 5.3L, 6.0L and 6.2L engines. At these power levels, the engines are bulletproof and breathtaking. Precise engine management developed and validated by Callaway, utilizing the original equipment sensors, actuators and control modules. Restrictions to airflow are eliminated with high-flow air intake systems and Callaway Double-D exhaust systems. Callaway sweats the details of every engine compartment with exclusive carbon fiber injector covers and Callaway underhood badges that authenticate a Callaway Avalanche, Callaway Silverado, Callaway Suburban and Callaway Tahoe as the Genuine Article.
Positive Pressure Experts – Callaway Cars has a long history of manufacturing high performance turbocharged and supercharged applications. From the first BMW turbocharger systems developed by Reeves Callaway in his home-based shop in the mid-1970′s, to the 1985-1986 GTV-6 turbo systems that Callaway built for Alfa Romeo, to the RPO B2K 1987-1991 Callaway Twin Turbo Corvettes assembled for Chevrolet, to the 5,500 turbocharger systems supplied to Mazda for the 2003-2003.5 MazdaSpeed Protegé, Callaway engineers have established a formidable technological base unmatched by anyone in the aftermarket.
Service-Proven Supercharging – To power Callaway SportTrucks, our engineers selected the Eaton TVS (Twin Vortices Series) supercharger. It’s no coincidence that the Corvette ZR1, Cadillac CTS-V and the Camaro ZL1 use the same Eaton-manufactured supercharger design. The Roots-style configuration provides a remarkable increase in peak power and an exceptionally broad, flat torque curve beginning off idle, unequalled by centrifugal compressor or twin screw Lysholm designs. The high-helix angle, four-lobe TVS rotor design provides higher efficiency than any of its predecessors while retaining bulletproof reliability. The unique air-to-liquid intercooler design, integral with the intake manifold base, significantly lowers charge air temperature to further increase power and packages handsomely. To reduce power-robbing parasitic drag, an internal bypass diverts the inlet air flow path during idle, low-load cruising and deceleration, allowing the supercharger internals to spin freely. Consequently, Callaway SportTruck fuel mileage is practically unchanged from stock fuel mileage.
50-State Legal and Warranty-Protected – Callaway’s engine management calibration provides perfect street manners and emissions compliance in all 50 states (CARB E.O. D-488-17). A standard 3 year/36,000 mile (60,000 km in Canada) limited warranty comes with every Callaway SportTruck, demonstrating the Company’s conviction in its product quality. An available 5 year/100,000 (160,000 km in Canada) limited powertrain service contract which mirrors the GM powertrain warranty term is also available as an available option.
