The Callaway Concept
No “Tuner Cars” here, Callaway cars, SUVs and trucks are new GM vehicles that are upfit with Callaway-designed performance and appearance equipment packages. GM drop-ships vehicles from their assembly plants to Callaway facilities in Connecticut and California where the Callaway upgrades are installed per established assembly procedures. Completed “Powerfully Engineered” Callaways are shipped to Authorized Callaway Dealers – select GM dealerships across the US and Canada – where Callaway cars, SUVs and trucks are sold.
Callaway offers the most comprehensive aftermarket warranty in the industry. Overlapping the factory GM warranty, Callaway covers all Callaway components and GM components that are affected by Callaway components. While GM warranties on “Tuner Cars” are null and void, dealers do not block factory warranty on Callaway cars, SUVs and trucks; they perform maintenance and warranty repairs with support from Callaway Cars.
Request for “Specialist Constructor” Status
We respectfully request that Callaway be referred to as a Specialist Constructor. These entities are defined as manufacturers that re-engineer vehicles, design and construct proprietary components, and market complete integrated packages and vehicles. Firms such as ours operate in concert with OE vehicle manufacturers. Examples of this business model include Abarth & Fiat, Cooper & Mini, AMG & Mercedes (before M-B’s acquisition of AMG), Alpine & Renault, Alpina & BMW, Lister & Jaguar, and Ruf & Porsche. That’s who we are, and that’s what we’ve accomplished with and for our OE clients: Aston Martin, GM, Holden, Land Rover, Mazda and of course, Corvette. And our motorsports arm, Callaway Competition GmbH, has fielded entries at Le Mans, Daytona, ADAC GT Masters, and FIA GT Championships since 1990.
